First edition, state D, retaining the jacket price of $2.50, and having medium blue-green boards, a 1 publisher name printed on the spine, and a four-line copyright notice. Recently pulled from publication by the Suess Estate due to a racially insensitive spread, this was Dr. Seuss first book published after World War II, his fifth published book, and the first to have been illustrated with full-color drawings.
