NEILL, John R. The Little Journeys of Nip and Tuck Sunday Comic. Pittsburg: The Pittsburg Dispatch, August 29, 1909. Single sheet of newsprint measuring 15.5 x 21.75 and featuring a six panel, full-color comic strip. Matted in a 20 x 26.5 beige matte. Sheet is lightly aged, bearing a stamp from Ohio State Library dated 1909.

A Sunday comic strip from 1909 by the celebrated illustrator of the Oz books, John R. Neill. The strip was written by William Bradford and ran from March 7, 1909 until February 27, 1910. With simple Mother Goose style rhymes and Neills whimsical illustrations, this was a charming comic strip showcasing Neills talents. Those familiar with his drawings for The Road to Oz [1909] will recognize that Nip and Tuck, as well as their dog, Dingleberry, could be doppelgangers for Trot, Button Bright, and Toto as they appear in The Road to Oz. This sheet comes from the first page of The Pittsburg Dispatchs comic section and is dated Sunday, August 29, 1909.
