First and only edition. The sixth of the annual Swedish collection of fairy tales, titled Among Gnomes and Trolls in English, and one of only 8 editions illustrated entirely by John Bauer before his untimely death in a shipwreck in 1918. This 1912 edition was the first to have color plates by Bauer as well as the first to be published in full white cloth with a pictorial label affixed to the front, which became a standard for this series.
